Product · Umbrae Keeper · automated liquidity

Set the range once. The Keeper holds it.

Automated liquidity rebalancing for your Umbrae positions. Set a price range once; the Keeper moves it back to center whenever the market drifts, so your liquidity keeps earning fees without you watching the chart.

The problem it removes

What it does

Umbrae uses a pool design called a Dynamic Liquidity Market Maker, or DLMM. Instead of spreading your liquidity across every possible price (which leaves most of your capital sitting idle), a DLMM lets you concentrate your liquidity inside the price range where the token is actually trading. You earn more fees per dollar, but only while the price stays inside the range you set.

Without a rebalancer, running that position is a job. Prices move, your range goes out of band, and the capital that was earning fees stops earning. You either watch the chart all day or your liquidity rots. The Umbrae Keeper exists so you can run a DLMM position the way you would run a stake: set it, check it occasionally, let it work.

You keep custody the whole time. The Keeper never takes your tokens and never holds your keys. Every rebalance is checked against the Umbrae smart contract before it runs. The contract, not the bot, decides whether a move is allowed. If the Keeper proposes something the contract refuses, nothing happens to your position.

The rebalance cycle

How it works

Four steps, in order. You do step 1; the Keeper handles steps 2 through 4.

Your position
Fig 02.1 Liquidity bins along the price. In range the band earns; out of range it sits idle until the Keeper proposes a new band (dashed), the contract checks it, and the band re-centres. You keep custody throughout.
  1. 01

    Set your range

Pick a price range you want your liquidity to earn fees inside. You set this once, in the Umbrae app.

  2. 02

    Keeper watches the price

The Keeper checks the pool every block. Your position sits inside your range and earns trading fees.

  3. 03

    Auto-rebalance when price drifts

When the price moves outside your range, the Keeper re-centers your liquidity automatically. The Umbrae contract checks every move before it runs, so there are no surprise trades.

  4. 04

    You keep your fees

Your position stays active and your custody never leaves the contract. You collect the trading fees the position earned the whole time.

Every action the Keeper proposes is checked against the Umbrae smart contract before it runs. The contract owns the math and the value floor; the bot only identifies when a move is due. If the contract refuses, nothing happens to your position.

Access and pricing

Who can use it
Ignis Elite members. Identity verification will be required through Ignis’s own private KYC system (built to handle personal data correctly and keep it offline), which is not live yet. The Keeper lives inside Umbrae Layer 2, the gated tier of the platform, because automated strategy management has regulatory weight a permissionless feature does not.
How to access it
The Keeper is being redeployed. Once it is back: open the Umbrae app and turn on Keeper management on any supported DLMM position. Where identity verification applies, it runs through the private KYC system once that is live.
What it costs
Nothing. Ignis users never pay a fee to use the Keeper: no subscription, no upfront cost, no monthly minimum, no cut of your rebalances. You still pay the network gas and the pool’s own swap fees, but nothing goes to Ignis for the Keeper itself.

Asked by users

Common questions

  • Q-01Do I have to run a bot myself?
No. Umbrae runs the Keeper for you. You set your range in the Umbrae app and the platform handles the rest. The operator path exists for people who want to run their own; see the operator note below.
  • Q-02Are my keys exposed to the Keeper?
No. The Keeper never holds your private keys and never takes custody of your position. Every rebalance runs through the Umbrae smart contract, which is the only thing that can move your liquidity. The bot only suggests when to move.
  • Q-03What happens if the Keeper fails or goes offline?
Your position stays exactly where you left it. The contract owns the math and the value floor; if the bot is down, no rebalances happen but your liquidity is safe and earning fees as long as the price is still inside your range.
  • Q-04Can I turn it off?
Yes. You can opt out of Keeper management at any time from inside the Umbrae app. Your position remains yours.
  • Q-05Is there a stop loss?
Every action the Keeper proposes is checked against a user-consented value floor inside the contract before it runs. The Keeper can tighten that floor on your behalf; it cannot weaken it.
